My Dream: 5v5 Community Soccer Field in Middletown Ohio

Super excited to be working to make a dream of mine possibly come true! Middletown Ohio has been hit hard by economic struggles in the past decade plus.

As the head coach of boys varsity soccer team, I have seen how socioeconomics can hamper players and the opportunities afforded to them. The school district is 100% free breakfast and lunch.

I currently hold Open Fields for the players to show up and play the great game of soccer! And 20–24 players have been showing up consistently.

But this got me thinking. A portion of my players cannot afford to join select soccer clubs and travel to play soccer. There has to be a way to give all players and their families the opportunity to play soccer in Middletown!

My dream … my vision … build a 5v5 Community Soccer Field in Middletown Ohio!

I have discussed the idea with a company who specializes in this type of project … Urban Soccer Park. Also, I chatted with the Natural Resources Coordinator — City of Middletown Public Works.

I have had great feedback from both conversations and am excited to see where this leads! Fingers crossed!

This is only the beginning and I will continue to share the journey!
